UPDATED CALENDAR:  Please click on the calendar attachment to see the updated Choral Music Calendar for 2008-09.  More complete information is provided for December holiday performances, AND, Solo & Ensemble MPA has been moved to February 13 - 14, 2009.



HOLIDAY CONCERTS:  The VHS Choral Music Holiday Concert will be held on Sunday, December 7, in the VHS Auditorium, at 3:00 PM.  Featured groups will include Women's Ensemble/Chorus, Concert Choir, and 9th Grade Chorus.



Women's Ensemble is scheduled to perform at Sun Tree Country Club at 12:30 PM on December 13.  (private party)

Mixed Ensemble is scheduled to perform at Merritt Island Presbyterian Church on December 14 at 6:00 PM.



"CANDLELIGHT" AT DISNEY WORLD:  Our combined Choirs have been selected as an Honor Choir for Disney's Candlelight Processional and Massed Choir Performance.  The distinction of Honor Choir is given to the top 20 scoring choirs that auditioned for "Candlelight!"  Our performance dates are December 12, 13, 19, & 23.



Parents, please be aware that the students will receive, before the end of October, an 8-page handout of directions and information.  Parents and students please read all of the information thoroughly!!



UNIFORM RENTALS:  Uniform rentals are due during the month of November.  Uniforms will be issued once the rental fee has been paid.  The district establishes the uniform rental cost, however, we charge less than other schools as we do not use the uniforms until second quarter.  Rental fees are $15.00, and can be paid before school, during lunch, or during designated class time (when a parent volunteer is available).  Please make checks payable to VHS. 



 

ALL-STATE:  After a series of extensive testing and vast amounts of preparation time, sincere "Congratulations" to our 2009 All-State Chorus Students: 



Mixed Chorus:  Sonya Belaya and Logan Busacca

Women's Chorus:  Hailey Clark, Jennifer Simpkins, and Emmalee West

Men's Chorus:  Reuben Haynes

Sight-Reading Chorus (best 100 sight-reading scores in the state):  Michael Morales and Kevin Zinone
